Client Reviews

    • Gary Graham

"Peter is a highly-skilled forensic accountant and an excellent expert witness as to damages. He has been engaged to assist, the Ontario Superior Court (including the Commercial List) and arbitrators in private arbitrations, on several matters where I was lead counsel. His presentations are clear, readily understood by the judge or arbitrator (typically she or he is a retired judge) and those presentations are relied upon by the court or arbitrator in decision-making and by the parties in the course of resolving the matter. He is responsive, timely and a pleasure to deal with."

    • Dan Dooley

"I have retained Peter Macaulay for opinion evidence on damages in such diverse cases as lawyer's alleged negligence, estate litigation, the purchase and sale of real property and the sale of company shares. His expertise and professionalism are beyond dispute. But even more important to me is Peter's reputation for integrity."

    • Annie Herschorn

"I have worked with Peter on many litigation files. I can say from experience over many years that Peter is an excellent expert on damages. I recommend Peter highly."

    • Robert Dunford

"As a litigator, I engaged Mr. Macaulay to rebut the damages report prepared in a landlord / tenant dispute over an industrial lease. After receiving Mr. Macaulay’s rebuttal report, the opposing expert on damages refused to testify. The court found in my clients’ favour both on damages and costs."

    • Heather Devine

"As a litigator who specializes in complex, high value, multi-party litigation, I have engaged Mr. Macaulay on several occasions. Our greatest success was based upon Mr. Macaulay's analysis, written report and oral testimony where he quantified the damages suffered by a Canadian company in a contractual dispute with a sovereign state. Three Judges of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC-Paris, France) accepted Mr. Macaulay’s testimony regarding the quantification of damages and granted a large award in favor of our client. The reasons for decision cited Mr. Macaulay's report verbatim on key areas of quantification of damages. I highly recommend Mr. Macaulay."

    • Jamie VanWiechen

"I have retained Peter on several occasions, with great success. Peter has the ability to get to the heart of the issue and to articulate it in a way that I, and more importantly the trier of fact, can understand. This is particularly important as the trier of fact rarely has an accounting background. Further, he is a professional, impartial witness with a high level of credibility."
